The Honda WN7 isn’t impressive simply because it perfectly mimics a combustion engine. It’s impressive because it can do something of its own. The acceleration to 100 km/h, the precise control, the adjustable recuperation and the quiet performance all combine to create a driving experience that’s a real joy on narrow roads. But where there’s light, there’s also shadow. The range remains limited, the seat is hard, the brakes could bite a bit harder, and on fast stretches above 100 km/h, it lacks that final bit of punch. Nevertheless, the WN7 clearly demonstrates that electric motorbikes can be not only sensible but also fun. Anyone who has the chance should give one a go before rejecting it on principle.
